Unleashing Children’s Mathematical Thinking and Learning
Maximize your students’ natural inclination to wonder and make meaning as our most valuable resource! This session will focus on teaching strategies and resources to reveal and enhance elementary students’ mathematical thinking and learning potential using the SOL Process Goals (problem solving, communication. reasoning, connections, and representations) as a framework for mathematical proficiency. Teachers will participate in a variety of open-ended, hands-on activities specifically designed to address the 2016 Standards of Learning. The session is best suited for grades 3-5.
